  1. Donna Jacobs Sife is a writer, award-winning storyteller and peace -worker. From the United Nations to Woodford Folk Festival, her considerable international reputation is built on her capacity to bridge difference be it within our societies, our communities or ourselves. For nearly two decades she has travelled widely throughout the world teaching and telling stories. She has been interviewed a number of times on ABC Radio on The Spirit of Things and Encounter. Well-known in the Sydney community, she has traveled throughout Australia, Israel, the United Kindom, and the United States to international acclaim, telling and teaching about story.
     
  2. Donna is a performing artist for the Department of Education, tells stories at festivals and conferences and major events, and gives workshops to professionals in health, education, welfare and corporate sectors. For Donna, storytelling is an art which has elements of the sacred. She is drawn to stories that hold within them truths that are beyond time and space, that provide ancient images that awaken lost memories within ourselves and our psyches. She tells to uplift the spirit, to awaken hope and to celebrate the soul. Donna draws from all traditions, and in doing so she takes pleasure in both the unique elements held within different cultures, and the golden thread that links them all. She was awarded first prize for original storytelling at the Australian National Storytelling Festival in 1997.

JEWISH EDUCATOR

Donna Jacobs Sife has been involved with Judaism as a teacher, performer, writer and contemporary interpreter with regards to creative, spiritual and ritualistic expression for 20 years.   She has taught on Jewish story and Bible in the Melton Adult Education Program UNSW, lectured in Sacred Story and interpretation at Universities of Sydney and Western Sydney,   92nd St Y in New York,  Jewish Museum NY, Limmud on the UK,  and Hebrew University Jerusalem.  For several years she was a regular columnist in the Australian Jewish News, and is a regular speaker at inter-faith events and conferences.  A well known peace and social activist,  Donna co-founded Jewish Voices for Peace and Justice with her friend Lyndall Katz,  and regularly  presents workshops on conflict resolution, dialogue, listening circles and other techniques.
